Lateef Abassi

Lateef Abassi is a Finance and Accounting specialist with over 30 years of professional experience in Management Consulting, Advisory and Assurance services to Public Sector and Quasi-government Organizations focusing on Infrastructure and Utilities (housing, energy, water, transportation and healthcare) management and operations. He got his experience working as a consultant to such organizations as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) where he led efforts related to Management and Marketing of HUD REOs; Multifamily Assisted Housing Portfolio Restructuring for privately owned Affordable Housing Projects; Capital Fund Program Revenue Bond Issuance Submittals for Public Housing Agencies; Urban Revitalization and Moving-to-Work Demonstration Program; and Contract Assessment Reviews for Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) Program.

Other experience as lead consultant includes work with U.S. Department of the Treasury- Office of Financial Stability, on its Compliance Monitoring of Public-Private Investment Program (“PPIP”) and Capital Purchase Program (“CPP”) under the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) with investment portfolio and U.S. Treasury Capital Contributions of over US$200 billion. Lateef is currently a Principal with IBS Management & Consultancy Services, a Washington DC Based Global Consulting and Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm where he leads the Transaction Advisory and Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) consulting services group. He also serves on the Board of MVUSA PROJEKTS NIGERIA LIMITED.

He holds a CPA license and Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of the District of Columbia, Washington DC.
